Rachel's Sailing News

7th Oct 2026

Rachel E, 11G, has had an enjoyable summer of competitions including two world and one national championships, with the stand out result being the bronze medal at the Female Feva World Championships in Travemunde. The photo below was taken on the opening day of that championships shortly before their mast broke due to the high winds. With her partner, Laura, Rachel had to work hard to recoup from that lost race and they were delighted to make it back up to second place.

The new season has started well. Rachel is now sailing with a new partner, Nicola, in the 29er which is a high performance skiff sailed by under 19's on the Olympic pathway (photo above). They were first females at the opening event of the new season and this has resulted in them being selected for the British Youth Sailing Team, one of only four female boats in the team. They will be training hard over the winter with some prestigious coaches and should represent Great Britain in competitions from December. Well done Rachel!
