For September 2020

We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide one to one support for the learning and welfare of a Sixth Form pupil with Autism and severe OCD, including SEMH. The role is to ensure that the pupil can safely integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class, and can fulfil their educational potential and work towards their independence. The HLTA will run specific programmes and activities to assist the pupil’s individual learning and social needs, and will implement the targets on the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) in liaison with the subject class teachers, Pastoral/ SEND support and the SENCO. TWGGS have appointed all of our trainee teachers for 2020/21. We will be advertising vacancies for 2021/22 shortly.
We have been using Kent and Medway training for the last four years to train teachers through the School Direct programme and there are bursaries available for a number of subjects to support you financially whilst you train. Training opportunities at TWGGS are available to applicants with relevant degrees at 2:2 level or higher.
