Introduction

Thank you for considering TWGGS for your child. We understand the importance placed upon selecting the right school and we are delighted that you have decided to learn more about what an education at TWGGS might mean for your child, and for you as parents or carers. While a wealth of information about our school can be found on this website, we warmly encourage you to visit us; at our open events, you can meet pupils and staff, and gain insight into the vast range of opportunities we have to offer.

Admission to the school (Years 7 to 11) is usually in Year 7, following a successful grammar assessment in the Kent PESE 11+ test. Entry is sometimes possible in other years, for those aged 11-16, and details for both Year 7 and In-Year admission can be found here. We always welcome applications from new students to our Sixth Form, and admissions details are again found here and under the Sixth Form menu above, where you can also find more detailed curriculum information.

From September 2022, Mrs Wybar has taken up the new role of Executive Headteacher, retaining overall strategic and statutory responsibility for the school while working on a part time basis. Mrs Marchant, as Associate Headteacher, shares day-to-day responsibility for the running of the school, supported and overseen by Mrs Wybar.

Working together towards high standards is part of the school ethos, and we balance these high expectations with warmth and support. The wellbeing of all is at the heart of our approach, allowing pupils to feel respected, included, secure and, above all, happy. We believe that parents and carers are key partners in nurturing our pupils and aiming for this success, and we therefore welcome any enquiries you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Andie Haycock (Admissions Manager, admissions@twggs.kent.sch.uk) or either of us if we can help you determine whether TWGGS is the school in which your child will thrive personally and academically. We very much look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Linda Wybar, Executive Headteacher, and Mrs Katie Marchant, Associate Headteacher
