Life beyond the classroom is an important part of the TWGGS experience, bringing our values of Character, Challenge and Community to life. We value pupil participation and recognise how these experiences enrich learning but also develop life skills. Clubs support wellbeing, while fostering a strong sense of belonging and these are things we very much value at Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School. There is a wonderful variety of extracurricular activities to explore, from debating and drama to chess and mythology, and from gardening and crochet to science experiments and designing escape-room puzzles. Pupils can sing in a choir, play in a jazz band or orchestra, get involved in sports such as netball, hockey and trampolining, or explore their creativity through art and textiles. Our forums and societies also offer spaces to share experiences, exchange ideas and support one another. The beginning of Year 7 is an ideal time to explore these opportunities, but we encourage pupils to get involved throughout their time at TWGGS, whether by pursuing an existing passion or trying something new - beginners are often catered for. In the Sixth Form, pupils can also contribute by taking leadership roles in many of our clubs. We are proud to be 'pupil led'. We regularly review our Clubs programme to reflect pupils’ interests and welcome suggestions for new activities. Pupils' ideas and enthusiasm helps shape our extracurricular provision, and we are always pleased to hear about other opportunities they would like us to explore. Parents and carers can view the activities available and register their child’s interest or book a place through 'Evolve Clubs', an online platform that is free to use. Kent County Council sends parents and carers an email link to register for the platform, where they can find details of our clubs, forums and societies.
