Once again, our Year 10s took part in an exciting Business Enterprise Day competition, an opportunity to create an entirely new company and develop essential skills for the future. Hosted by experienced business professionals, groups of four to five pupils were selected randomly across the year and given their brief from TWBC; to tender for the management of a one-hundred guest gala dinner event at TWGGS to raise awareness of green issues and sustainability. Based on current knowledge and abilities and having assigned the various roles accordingly, including Project Manager and Finance Officer, there were then a multitude of tasks to consider and complete such as decoration, marketing, menu creation, entertainment and all within the £1800 budget allocation. Everyone's contribution and each team's collaborations resulted in a final pitch with a presentation outlining their specific group's proposal. Prizes were awarded to the four most successful groups, who then went on to compete to be the overall winners of this fun and inspiring day.
