Three of our pupils attended the Kent Schools Track and Field Championships on Saturday, 13th June and did exceedingly well in their respective events. Sophie L, 8S, competed in the high jump and discus. She placed first in high jump with a height of 1.56 m. This is a TWGGS school record which has been held since 1996! She came fourth in the discus and was just shy of a personal best.

Laura W, 8T, competed in javelin (28.65m, also a TWGGS record that has been held since 2005) and hammer (32.84m) in the U15 Girls category, setting a new TWGGS record that we have not had before. Laura came second in both. She also took part in the London Schools' Pentathlon, competing against 28 athletes in the Junior Girls category, placing ninth overall. She achieved fantastic results across all five disciplines and came away with four personal bests: fourth in hurdles, fifth in shot putt, sixth in high jump, seventh in long jump and ninth in the 800m.

Aimee W, 9Y, completed the 1500m in the U15 Girls category. She placed first with a time of 4:55:00. While not a personal best for Aimee, this was a TWGGS school record which had been held since 2014. On Saturday, 20th June, Aimee then attended the ESAA Inter-Counties Athletics Championships. She came third in the 1500m with a time of 4:49:34,beating the TWGGS record she set only the weekend before!

Well done to all our competitors for their outstanding achievements.
