TWGGS has been awarded the prestigious Gold UK Feminista Action Award in recognition of its outstanding commitment to tackling sexism and sexual harassment through a comprehensive whole-school approach.
The award, presented at Parliament by the host and chair, Helen Hayes MP, Chair of the UK Parliament’s Education Committee, recognises schools that demonstrate exceptional leadership and sustained action in creating safe, respectful and inclusive environments for young people. Representing TWGGS at the ceremony were Mrs Marchant, Mrs Miller, Ms Neave and Mrs Davis who collected the award on behalf of the school community.
A significant factor in achieving the award was our pioneering ‘On My Way’ initiative. What began as a pupil voice project focused on behaviour, safety and wellbeing during journeys to and from school has now developed into a wider local safeguarding campaign involving schools, public services and community partners. We could not be more proud of this award, and we are grateful to pupils, parents, carers, schools and partners for your ongoing support.
