The Year 8 Pett Level coastal field trip took place during the week before half term, splitting the classes over two days. It’s a great opportunity for pupils to learn about coastal features and erosional processes, and the effectiveness of the coastal defences, by carrying out a number of data collection methods, and analysing the data back in the classroom. Equally important are the skills they develop such as teamwork, organisation and communication skills. It’s always really interesting to see all the pupils work in groups outside of the classroom and being challenged in new ways and solve problems together, especially if there are gusts of wind over 35mph! It’s a pleasure to take the pupils on trips, and our thanks as always go to the supporting staff who come along to help.
