Last week, our dedicated U13 and U19 gymnastics squads travelled to Stoke-on-Trent to represent TWGGS at the National Milano Finals on 6th and 7th March. Facing the best in the country, our athletes showcased incredible skill across three disciplines: a trio routine, individual floor routines, and vaulting.
What makes these results even more impressive is the resilience shown by the teams; many gymnasts have been training through challenging injuries to ensure they were ready for the national stage.
The U13 Squad kicked off the competition on Friday. In a massive field of talent, they secured a solid 13th place finish as a team and played a vital role in helping our combined region secure a silver medal.
The U19 Squad took to the floor on Saturday. They delivered a breathtaking performance, narrowly missing out on a team medal by the smallest of margins to finish 4th in the country. Their scores propelled them to 2nd place regionally and a phenomenal 1st place finish as a combined region.
A huge well done to every gymnast involved. The hours of discipline and the grit shown in overcoming physical setbacks have truly paid off. You represented TWGGS with grace and determination, and you should be immensely proud of these national rankings.
Congratulations to all!
