In the Zone at the Zonal Trampolining Competition

11th Feb 2026

Last weekend, eight pupils from our trampolining squad travelled to the Zonal Trampolining Competition, the second round of the competition that we had qualified for in November. The trip began on Saturday afternoon, leaving school at around 4:00pm, for a four-hour journey to Bristol where we stayed overnight. After an early 6:00am start on Sunday, including helping each other get competition-ready (and doing each other’s hair!) we headed to Weston-super-Mare for the competition. It ran from 8:00am until 6:30pm, making it a very long but, of course, fun day (with plenty of snacks to keep us going!)

The squad included Nina H (8Y), Olivia W (9S), Florence J (9W), Abigail W (9T), Alathaea J (10S), Amelie VNH (L6W), Anna D (L6W) and Matilda C (L6Y), with several of these competing both individually and in teams. Although the number of qualifying participants was extremely limited and we do not have anyone progressing to the next round, several routines were very close, and we are very proud of how everyone performed! Competing at Zonals was a great opportunity and a reward for all the effort we have put into training. We are extremely grateful to our teachers, Mrs Scovell and Miss Richardson, for giving up their weekend to support us and make the trip possible. Thank you so much!
