Our swim team competed at the Kent Schools' Swimming Association gala in Thanet on the 18th of January. All swimmers did very well, with a gold medal for Cheryl T (9W) in the 100m Butterfly, and a bronze medal for Elsie S (9B) in the 100m Backstroke. Some amazing times were achieved by everyone, whether it was a County time or just a few seconds making a personal best. Everyone was incredibly supportive and the morale was really high. The day was long, but energy still held up until the final race, where the whole squad cheered our 200m Individual Medley swimmers to the finish with Cheryl, Safia C (8B) and Elsie gaining medals. Even though the team didn’t win, we all came home with a sense of accomplishment at what we had achieved. A very big thank you to Miss Withers and Mrs Elliott who coached our team to success! Eva E (10G)
