U16 Netball and Hockey Success!

4th Dec 2025

The U16 Hockey Squad are through to the quarter finals of the National Cup after beating Godolphin and Latymer School 2-0.

Our U16 Netball Team are also enjoying recent success and are through to the Regionals. Please read on for a match report by Niamh D:

Having come top of our group in the county tournament a few weeks ago, we went through to the county finals which happened last Friday. We played the top seven teams in Kent with only two teams being able to go through to regionals.

We started a bit slowly with a loss against the eventual first place team, Bromley, but worked hard and managed to win the following four matches. Losing our sixth match against Kent College meant we were in a tie with four other teams for first place! Our last match was important as we knew it would come down to goal difference to get into the top two. Luckily we managed to win our final match by a lot. Finally, the day ended with us coming in joint first place with Bromley High but they ended up with the trophy by beating us by 0.19 on goal difference! This still meant we get to go through to the regional tournament in January, being the first time in many years for TWGGS.

Well done to the whole team with everyone playing amazingly throughout the day. Also, thanks to Harriet L who stepped in last minute to show excellent defence.

Niamh D, 11G

Well done and fantastically well-played everyone!
