Recently Dr Burke, a GP and former surgeon, kindly visited the Sixth Form Medical Society to teach suturing techniques on bananas. Dr Burke said the best way to do it was 'see one, do one, teach one'! They paid it forward the following week: the Sixth Formers and Dr Burke came back to teach Year 10 and 11 the same technique and this time they also had practice skin boards. Some beautiful stitches were made. Given their practice at the recent Sixth Form Open Evening, they should be ready for their first operations very soon!
