The TWGGS Ski Team has had a busy start to the school year. We have had lots of new pupils join the team and attend the weekly training, we are always happy to chat to anyone else who may be interested in joining.

On Sunday, 21st September, four teams attended the ESSKIA Regional Dry Slope Qualifiers. The four teams entered comprised of Amelie W, Ellie K, Eloise D-S, Isabella B, Clara J, Lorraine D-S, Bella F, Layla V, Jess P, Isla T, Suzy M, Genevieve S, Ella S, Bess M and Betsy M. The girls all showed skill, speed, determination and their usual amazing team spirit, earning eight of the pupils a place at the English National Dry Slope Finals.

Last weekend, Amelie, Ellie, Eloise, Isabella, Bella, Clara and Lorraine were in Norfolk attending the ESSKIA English National Dry Slope Final and the English Open Championships Qualifiers.

On Saturday, at the English finals, all the girls skied brilliantly against some very tough competition with some great times, but unfortunately no team podium wins. The senior team of Bella, Lorraine and Clara came fifth and Amelie from the junior team had a podium win for being the fastest unregistered racer in her age category which is a fantastic achievement for her.

On the Sunday, Amelie, Ellie, Eloise, Lorraine, Bella and Clara attended the British Open Championships Qualifiers. All the girls got some great times and were a credit to the school. Amelie, Lorraine and Eloise have managed to qualify for the British Championships which will be held in Swadlincote next month. They are the youngest team to qualify this year, so we are very proud of them for their hard work and determination.
