On Tuesday the U16 girls' hockey team took on Sevenoaks School in round one of the tier two knockout cup. After the first half, no goals had been scored yet but TWGGS were on top, having had most possession of the ball. Then, shortly into the second half, the first goal was scored in a short corner, quickly followed by two more excellent goals where our players went one-on-one and out-skilled their goal keeper. We managed to hold off Sevenoaks and kept them from scoring (shout out to the defenders) resulting in a monumental 3-0 win against the local rivals. Then we were treated to a match tea from the friendly hosts (rating 6.7/10). Next round we face Kent College Canterbury on Tuesday, 7th October in a home match, so make sure you come and support by the astro after school.
