Y7 Learns About Specialised Cells in Biology

18th Sep 2025

7S recently had a fun session studying specialised cells. Their task was to make micromodels (using Plasticine) of the specialised cells they had learnt about that lesson. All about bringing the cells from the 2D textbook page into 3D! They did a really good job. Can you tell what they are? See if you can guess which is which out of the following options: neurone, sperm cell, root hair cell, smooth muscle cell, red blood cell. Next, they will be learning about bacterial cells where 7S will compare and contrast the cell structure with plant and animal cells, and then look at how bacteria cells are adapted to their function. We might even make some more micromodels as these ones were so good!
