L6 Physics Aerospace Careers trip

11th Jun 2025

On 22nd May eight L6 Physics spent a day at Walthamstow Hall in Sevenoaks to attend a roadshow event of the Schools’ Aerospace Careers Programme.

In the morning the team delivered a series of presentations. The three most memorable were:

  1. The future of space travel, with a focus on the Artemis campaign to establish a moon base and subsequent missions to Mars. Many future career opportunities were outlined.
  2. Career paths to become a commercial pilot
  3. A Boston Dynamics robot called ‘Spot’. It walked like a dog and had a microphone and loudspeaker connected to a generative AI so that you could have a conversation with it. It was a little bit scary when it walked towards you!

In the afternoon, breakout sessions featured technologies such as robotics and virtual reality.

All in all, a very inspiring day out.
