The Music Department is once again buzzing with rehearsals in preparation for our many upcoming events. This year we have seven new Chamber Music ensembles, who are busy rehearsing our entries for The Pro Corda National Chamber Music Festival in the new year. Our Junior Ensembles are excitedly working towards their Junior Concert on Wednesday, 18th November, and there is so much excitement about our upcoming performances of Hadestown, on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th November. We are also looking forward to our annual trips to Glyndebourne Opera House in early November to see The Barber of Seville, with our GCSE and A Level Music pupils, and we are once again visiting Cambridge with our Joint Chamber Choir (with The Skinners’ School) to spend the day with various music facilities colleges, finishing the day singing Evensong at Christ’s College. Many TWGGS pupils took part in residential music courses over the summer holidays, and we are especially proud of Issy K, 9S, who is a member of The National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and spent a week in the North of England on the NYC course, culminating in a concert in Huddersfield Town Hall. The theme for the week was ‘We Belong’ and Issy got to sing specially commissioned music with the other 120 members of the choir. Huge congratulations also go to Juno D, U6Y, for achieving 95/100 for Grade 8 singing. This is a truly remarkable achievement and a testament to all her hard work. A huge well done also to Ms McNeillis, one of our wonderful peripatetic singing teachers, for preparing Juno so well for the exam. Upcoming Dates for your Diaries:
