In July, 17 Lower Sixth Biology pupils went on a trip of a lifetime to Sri Lanka. The first week of culture activities included temples, a Buddhism and meditation lesson, a tea factory, spice garden, fire dancing show, henna tattoos and much more. Then a wild elephant safari and a sunset hike up Pidurangala rock. The second week was volunteer work on a sea turtle conservation project on Ambalangoda beach. Pupils fed and cleaned disabled and recovering turtles, cleaned out their tanks and harvested seaweed from the beach. On the last day, they released a rehabilitated turtle back to the sea.
