A massive well done to our Year 9 MFL Spelling Bee champions: Rose M, 9T, for French, Hannah F, 9S, for Spanish, and Shanika H, 9W, for German! Organised annually by the Languages Department during the summer term, this competition begins with pupils mastering phonics and learning a 30-word list, which they must pronounce correctly and spell using the target language's alphabet. Top performers from each form progressed to the final on Thursday, 9th July, where they faced a fresh set of challenging words. The final was an incredibly close contest and we were thoroughly impressed by the participants' dedication as well as the wonderful encouragement they received from their peers.
