Celebrating 100 Years of Sir David Attenborough

20th May 2026

To celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday, a national treasure who has been described as 'the calm, trusted voice of the natural world', our Sustainability and Environment Prefects took the opportunity last week to honour his extraordinary life with an Attenborough Quiz and a screening of 'Planet Earth' in the hall. This is what they had to say about what inspired them to run the event:

'In honour of Sir David Attenborough's birthday, we wanted to bring attention to the event by creating an engaging and fun quiz on Attenborough and our wildlife, as well as a 'guess the animal' game. This initiative served as a great way to raise awareness of his work and honour his continued dedication to the natural environment. Alongside this, we created a poster with ten simple ideas of how to improve sustainability habits in everyday life. Attenborough's birthday enabled us to remind pupils about the importance of joint responsibility in protecting the environment, and that we can all play a part'.

If you would like to try your hand at the quizzes held at school last week, Grace and Sylvie have kindly made the David Attenborough Wildlife and Guess the Animal quizzes (with answers!) available for you to play at home.
