The Kent Swimming Championships were held at the London Aquatic Centre in January, marking a significant achievement for all participants due to Kent's notably high qualifying times. TWGGS pupils made a strong showing at the event, with several swimmers achieving personal bests and earning medals in their respective age groups:

Safia C, 8B, competed in eight events within the 13 years age group, setting impressive personal best times. Miriam F, 9T, took part in four events in the 14 years age group, also achieving new personal bests. Elsie S, 9B, participated in twelve events, delivered gutsy performances in the 14 years age group, and triumphed in finals to secure one silver and one bronze medal. Bella J, 11I, entered ten events in the 16 years age group, winning an outstanding seven golds and one silver medal. Ilana N-E, L6T, competed in eight events in the 17-and-older age group, stepping up between heats and finals to claim a silver medal in a highly competitive field. Cheryl T, 9W, contested eleven events in the 15 years age group, swimming strong races and earning two bronze and a silver medal. 

The TWGGS pupils are now preparing diligently for the South East Regional Championships set for April and May, aiming to build on their successes from Kent. Huge congratulations to everyone who took part and we wish you all the very best of luck!
