Documentary Making at The Amelia Scott

Documentary Making at The Amelia Scott

19th Nov 2025

In October half term, some young people aged 13–19 took part in a three-day documentary-making project at The Amelia Scott Tunbridge Wells. Hannah F, 9S, worked in a group of four to produce a short documentary exploring how the Housing Crisis is affecting the residents of Tunbridge Wells, and how local experts are working to address it, a topic they chose themselves. Hannah and her group interviewed industry experts and members of the public, gaining real-world insights into the topic. She also met leading documentary filmmaker Antony Jarman, and digital artist and storyteller David Blandy, learning professional techniques and creative approaches, as well as an insight into their creative careers and practice. If you would like to see the documentary, it is available to view here.
