Day 1: We arrived at Marseille airport and drove to Cassis. The town was very beautiful, with amazing views of the sea and cliffs. We walked around and took a boat tour around Les Calanques, which was a great way to see the coastline. Later, we drove back to Avignon to meet our exchange partners.
Day 2: We walked from the school into Avignon and visited Les Halles indoor market, the Pont d’Avignon, and the Palais des Papes. It was interesting to learn about the history of the city. After lunch, we explored the city more and took a tourist train around the famous sights, which was a fun way to see everything.
Day 3: We spent the morning in school, attending different lessons. It was interesting to experience a French school day. In the afternoon, we spent time with our exchange partners and had the chance to practise our French.
Day 4: We visited Le Sentier des Ocres (the Ochre Trail) and the town of Roussillon. The colours of the landscape were really unique. In the afternoon, we went to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and had time to explore the town.
Day 5: We travelled to Les Baux-de-Provence and visited the town and the castle ruins. In the afternoon, we went to Les Carrières des Lumières, a sound and light show set in an old quarry. The show was really impressive and a highlight of the trip.
Day 6: We spent our final morning with our exchange partners before heading to the airport and flying back home. It was a great week with lots of fun activities and interesting places to visit.
