A Level Art student, Atulyaa, entered the Fitzwilliam College Architectural Design Competition (2025). The challenge was to design a new building somewhere on the Cambridge college site. Over 600 entries were received with the judges saying the quality was excellent. Atulyaa‘s entry was rated highly, and she was awarded with a certificate of commendation. Atulyaa’s building design plans explain how she was inspired by the structure of a ship and the chapel’s hull-like ground floor. Her extensive architectural plans contrast fluid shapes, influenced by Zaha Hadid’s London Aquatics Centre, with bold geometric forms, inspired by Denys Lasdun’s Brutalist designs. This achievement is testament to Atulyaa’s independence and determination to challenge herself and seize super curricular opportunities that extend and broaden her Art experience, knowledge and skills. Congratulations Atulyaa!
