In the last two weeks we have held our first Open Events of the academic year. As you are no doubt aware, it takes an army of hundreds to put on such an event. For the Open Evening for prospective Twiglets at the end of September, every Year 7 took part, as did our prefects, our Lower Sixth and of course our staff. For three hours the school was fizzing with energy and enthusiasm, the pupils demonstrating experiments and giving tours, showcasing everything our school has to offer. Our grateful thanks to all the pupils and staff who worked so hard to put on such a wonderful event. Particular mention goes to Daisy A, Evie H and Lizzie W who spoke so beautifully about their experience of TWGGS so far.
Last night was our Sixth Form Open Evening and our Lower Sixth, Head Girl Team and Senior Prefects were a credit to their respective subject departments. The enthusiasm was infectious, and the they were wonderful ambassadors for our school. A lot of creative effort went into the inventive displays, there was even a cake in the shape of a calculator in Maths! Thank you to everyone who helped out on the evening, and to all our visitors, welcome. We hope to see you again.
If you are the parent/carer of a prospective Year 7 and were unable to attend our event in September, we have further events where you have the opportunity to see our classrooms in action. The next event will take place on Wednesday, 21st October, 10.40am to 12.30pm, with Mrs Marchant speaking at 11.30am. Please click here to book your place.
If you are a prospective candidate considering post-16 options, and were unable to attend the Sixth Form Open Evening, please contact Mrs Burns, our Admissions Manager, by emailing admissions@twggs.kent.sch.uk. We hope you enjoy these photographs of the event.
