We ended the last academic year on a real high with our Key Stage 3 Award Presentations, welcoming pupils and their families into school to recognise and celebrate their achievements.
Although these photographs have taken a little while to make their way into the newsletter (we've had a whole six weeks in between!), we think they provide a wonderful way to begin a new school year: by reminding ourselves just how important recognition is.
At TWGGS, achievement is about so much more than academic outcomes. We want our pupils to know that we notice and value the wider picture too: their progress, effort and diligence; the way they demonstrate our school values; their contribution to our community; and the many different ways in which they grow and flourish during their time with us.
Recognition matters because it helps our pupils to feel seen, valued and that they truly belong. It was such a pleasure to share this celebration with pupils and their families, and to have the opportunity to pause and say: we see what you have achieved, we see who you are and we are so proud of you.
We hope to share many more pupil successes throughout this year and we would also love to hear about achievements beyond the school gates. Whether sporting, musical, creative, charitable, personal or something completely different... please let us know if there is an achievement we can help to recognise and celebrate.
