Home Learning Guide

While TWGGS is closed during term time, our pupils are expected, wherever possible in their individual circumstances, to complete five hours of Home Learning per day, matching what they would complete in school as per their timetable. The timing of when they complete this work during the day is the decision of pupils and parents. If pupils are unwell, they should just let teachers know, and School recognises that some may be struggling to concentrate with lots of others in the household also working from home. Pupils should not worry if they are struggling with something; they should just try hard within the allocated time, and keep in touch with teachers.

Work will be a mixture of typical classroom activities, but also may include use of videos, wider reading, research and assessments. Staff will not necessarily be available during set lesson time due to their own home circumstances.

Pupils should not be tempted to work longer hours; it’s really important for their well-being that they have plenty of rest and relaxation, especially at a stressful time. They should take time to get some exercise (within the bounds of what is safe and allowed) and also to take breaks.

If you wish to contact the school during the closure period, please telephone 01892 520902 to speak to Reception, or email admin@twggs.kent.sch.uk.

If the telephone is not answered, please leave a message on extension 201. Telephone messages are checked regularly throughout the school day. If you know the email address of the person you wish to contact, please email them directly.
